Smithfield is a town in Isle of Wight County and has been said/known as "The Prettiest Town in Virginia". It is most famous for the production and curing of ham - Smithfield Foods, the largest pork processor and hog producer in the world. Smithfield is a historic town that was incorporated in 1752.

Town description

Smithfield is a gorgeous town that is rich in history and culture that lies within Isle of Wight County. It is bordered to the east and north by the James River, Suffolk to the east and south, and is the western most area of the South Hampton Roads region.

Smithfield is a quiet and family-oriented town that is comprised of the following neighborhoods: Wellington Estates, Cypress Creek, Villas at Smithfield and Church Square.

The town features Windsor Castle, St Lukes, Historic Church and Museum, nearby Scotland and the ferry to Jamestown Island.
