Marvin is a lifetime resident of Hampton Roads and a graduate of Christopher Newport College (yes College, not University. They had five or six total buildings then!). After college he worked with a nationwide restaurant chain, Steak & Ale, for ten years. In 1985, he became a Realtor® for Greg Garrett Realty within the first few months of its inception. During the 33 years with Greg Garrett Realty (the longest tenure of anyone in the company), Marvin has sold over 700 homes in Hampton Roads, with a specialty in selling properties that other agents had previously listed and could not get them sold. He has been successful at that over 200 times.

Marvin has been Greg Garrett Realty’s #1 Marketing Agent of the Year multiple times. He has served and chaired the Professional Standards and Ethics Committees and has been a Certified Ethics Instructor. He was chosen as the Realtor® Code of Ethics Recipient for 2007 and 2014 (only one Realtor® out of over 1,000 members is awarded this honor each year). This award is given to the Realtor® who has shown a consistent level of upholding the Realtor® Code of Ethics while serving clients and helping peers within the real estate industry. He was elected by his peers to serve on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Association of Realtors. Over his career, Marvin has received many, many yearly awards, including the prestigious Emerald Award in 2008 for receiving an award for a minimum of 20 years. In 1990 Marvin was the #3 Realtor® out of over 1,400 Realtors® and Agents, and the #4 Realtor® in 1991 in the Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtors®. He has been selected by Five Star Professional Magazine for the Hampton Roads Region for five years based on client satisfaction surveys.
