What do you get when you cross a native beach and nature enthusiast with a committed Realtor® working for one of Hampton Roads leading Realty groups? A new home, complete with directions to the area’s best and most “secret” spots!
Amethyst, a.k.a. Amy, grew up in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake, VA. She enjoyed spending weekends working on her Aunt’s farm in Hickory as an older child. Resulting in a lifelong commitment and compassion for helping animals and all things gardening, as well as a killer work ethic and no fear of dirt. Sports were also a huge part of family life and Amy enjoyed being involved in basketball, soccer, and volleyball throughout her childhood. She graduated high school in three years with honors from Great Bridge High and though she had an acceptance letter to William and Mary, she chose a different path in life.
Fast forward to present day, Amy is a devoted wife, mother to two young girls, and step-mother to another daughter, as well as a “dog-mom” to a spoiled American Eskimo pup named Winston Churchill. Most of their time is spent on the beaches in the summer and in parks when the weather permits the rest of the year. Amy enjoys “older” music, her favorite movie is “The Goonies” and she’s got a bit of a dry sense of humor. As a member of All Saint’s Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach, Amy enjoys being involved with the children’s day school and being head of the garden committee for the school as well.
“Mind your manners and be kind always. It costs you nothing.” This simple motto is how she conducts her business. It’s also the mantra she reminds her daughters of daily. Amy wholeheartedly believes the most important thing is how you treat other people. At the end of the day, Amethyst enjoys her career in real estate simply because she gets to actively help people within her community achieve their goals and solve their problems. And to her “that’s the most rewarding and beautiful thing ever!”
